This volume was conceived by the photographer, Beta Kalman, who made a pilgrimage to Angkor's monuments in March of 1970. His visit took place just days before the overthrow of Prince Sihanouk and the ensuing spread of the Indochinese conflict that isolated Angkor region for 18 years. The text was written by Chinese scholar and art historian, Joan Lebold Cohen. No ownership marks and few signs of use. A near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket..
