Original black one-half leather, spine with five raised bands, lettered in gilt in two panels and with elaborate gilt-decorations in the other four panels, over French marbled boards with matching marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, lg 8vo. This work covers the following orders: Carnassier (Carnivora), Rodentia, Edentata, and Pachydermata. No ownership marks. Some mild offsetting from a few color plates to the facing page of text; a bright and clean copy in very good condition..
