Description: Dublin, J. Potts and J. Williams, 1769. ORIGINAL EDITION, NOT A REPRINT. Leather bound. Brown leather/boards. Five raised bands to spine with gilt lettering. Tooled edging all around. xvi, 174 pp. with 1 bw illustrations and 3 folding bw plates of a plan of the Lake of Kilarny in the County of Kerry, a view of the waterfall at Powerscourt, and a sketch of the figures (top view) of the columns at the Giant's Causewy in County Antrim. A very interesting book about all sorts of observations of things Irish. The Anna Maria Winter who previously owned the book likely could be the Irish poet whose works were published in the 1830s, when she was "in the decline of her life" and who wrote The Fairies and Other Poems" as well about about nature and moral nature. An worthy copy of being professionally rebound. Good, clean, tight text block, but covers are detached (present), and closed page edges have age discoloration. Bookplate of Philip Rabito inside front cover (circa 1980s?); ink name (Anna Maria Winter) at top of title page (1800s?). The folding frontis map is missing. The remaining folded illustrations each have a small tear at the hinge fold.
