Title: The New Mirror, a Saturday Paper Embellished with Beautiful Steel Engravings, Vol. 2
Description: New York, 1843. Hardbound. 3/4 worn leather. 416 pp. 26 steel engravings. Begins with Issue 20 of Volume 1 (August 19, 1843). Then there is the frontispiece illustration and title-page for Vol. 2, which commenced on Oct. 7, 1843 with Number 1. Lacks issue 5. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 25. Also contains these issues from volume 3: 14, 17, followed by a Supplement titled "The New Mirror EXTRA: Rutgers Female Institute New York" which is 12 pages long; followed by issues19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26, which is dated September 28, 1844. In this final issue, the editors state (on the last page) that, because of inconsitent postage costs, they will begin publication of a daily to be called "The Evening Mirror" to be published all days except Sunday, and also a weekly version titled "The Weekly Mirror" to consist of a summation of the best articles from the previous weeks' issues.
