Limited edition, no.216 of 375 copies, complete set of eight volumes, 4to., pp.(iv),224;(iv),213;(iv),201;(iv),217;(iv),177;(iv),301;(iv),250;(iv),252; linen-backed with printed paper title-labels, blue paper-covered boards, titles in red and black, with lettering for titles and headings designed by Joscelyne V. Gaskin, hand-coloured marginal illustrations to The Canterbury Tales, hand-coloured plate and further vignettes to Troilus and Criseyde, spare title labels bound in; just mildly ex library, with (not unattractive) bookplate to all front paste-down endpapers, and small blindstamp to foot of title pages, labels toned, with a little light loss to labels for volumes I and VIII, some light wear to cloth at extremities, overall a very good, internally fresh set.
