First edition, 12mo., pp.(4)115,(1) (paginated to rectos only: pp.230), full calf, five raised bands, decorative floral design in gilt to compartments, triple gilt rules to boards, printer’s pictorial vignette to title, marbled endpapers; a very good copy. Latin translation by Florent Chrétien of excerpts from the Greek Anthology. Florent Chrestien became involved in a "libel quarrel" against Ronsard in 1563-1564, where he sometimes adopted the pen name "Sieur de la Barony." The two poets were eventually reconciled a decade later. In January 1567 he became tutor to Henri de Navarre, Queen Jeanne of Albret and later became the king’s librarian.
