East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins (neither in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with a a front cover comix drawn by Alan Yossarian Shenker and written by D.A. Latimer that brutally depicts the killing of civilian women and children in Vietnam by US GIs; a one page interview with Timothy Leary; a look at the air war in Vietnam; a full page comix by Bill Griffith, "Good Golly Miz' Molly," theater, etc. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. Paper a bit brittle. Mailing label present. Good .
