East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins and others (neither in this issue), as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with a front cover tribute to the recently deceased George Jackson, featuring a quote from him. Interior with a piece by Jerry Rubin, a short piece by Tuli Kupferberg etc. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. Paper a bit brittle. Minor soiling. Faint dampstaining along the top edge. Moderate chipping and tearing along the fore edge. Good .
