A newsletter issued by the Women's National Abortion Action Coalition. WONAAC was founded in 1971 to work for abortion rights, end forced sterilization and gain accessible birth control. The coalition included high school and college women, as well as women of color, and held marches and protests across the country. In the fall of 1972, the organization held abortion tribunals across the United States, holding men in power accountable for their actions. The organization came to an end in January of 1973 with the decision of Roe v. Wade. This issue of this newsletter discusses various anti-abortion laws and legal action undertaken by various states, (including a pro-contraceptive ruling by the Supreme Court against Massachusetts), as well as providing short accounts of the action of affiliates of WONAAC across the country.
