Single issue of this weekly journal founded and published by Leigh and John Hunt. Founded in 1808, it published until 1886, being owned by the Hunts until 1828. During the Hunts' tenure, the paper embraced radical reformist ideals, leading to some prosecutions of the editors. The paper was known for its witty take on politics, culture and current events. This issue with a look at recent laws and English politics, a diagrammed account of the funeral procession of the Late Duke of York, etc. GOOD condition. Binding very fragile, with pages in danger of becoming detached with much further handling. Remains of binding along the spine. Minor toning, foxing and soiling. Good .
