A flier advertising a Friday, January 26th rally and demonstration as part of protests for Stop the Draft Week. This particular event would also involve a demonstration at the courthouse where Huey Newton (of the Black Panther Party) was to be arraigned. The handbill discusses the American power structure and the use of police and laws to repress Black people, as well as incarcerate or intimidate various leaders of the Black power movement, including Bobby Seale, H. Rap Brown, Le Roi Jones (Amiri Baraka). The flier urges support for the Black liberation movement, as well as promoting the Peace and Freedom Party as an alternative to the traditional two parties. GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with heavy darkening along the lower folds and lower half of the paper in general. Some creasing, wrinkling and offsetting. Small chip missing from the left center edge. Minor soiling. Good .
