Single issue of this newspaper formed by a faction of the staff of the long running left wing newspaper, the Guardian. Dissatisfied with the treatment of the staff, sexism and other issues, some members broke with the paper, forming the short-lived Liberated Guardian. This paper took a stronger revolutionary tone in its coverage of politics and social issues. This issue with an eight page supplement looking at Soledad Prison and the treatment of Black prisoners. It discusses events leading up to the courthouse shooting in Marin County, as well as the events at the courthouse and includes letters from prison by George Jackson and others. Also present in this issue is news on the bombing of the Army Math Research Center; a Chicano Rally; a printing of a letter from Huey Newton in support of women and gay people, considering both as revolutionary groups that are oppressed. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. A few small creases and tears along the extremities. Vol. 1 No. 9 in ink at the top of the front cover. Good .
