Single issue of this underground newspaper embracing radical, left wing and socialist causes (with a Marxist-Leninist bent). Originating as the Temple Free Press at Temple University it evolved from a college newspaper to a radical paper under the editorship of Bill Baggins. This issue with news on the case of Fred Ahmed Evans, an African-American activist and leader of the New Libyans in Cleveland. After constant police surveillance and harassment, his group and the Cleveland police engaged in a shootout in 1968 that left seven people dead. Another piece looks at violent police action used against protesting Black workers in Pittsburgh; other police violence; the Vietnam War; a photo of Kathleen and Eldridge Cleaver with their baby son, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate toning to the paper. Horizontal fold crease present. Minor tearing along the fore edge. Good .
