A later issue of this pioneering underground newspaper, known as the Freep. Established in 1964, the paper was known for its coverage of the counterculture movement and radical politics, as well as its strong anti-Vietnam War stance. Financial and staffing troubles led to its eventual demise in 1978. This issue with a piece on a peace march/demonstration in San Francisco; an article on the acquittal of the Gay Liberation Front activist Bob McIvery on the charge of not reporting to be inducted into the military; articles on film and music, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate general browning. Paper slightly brittle. Minor wrinkling along the extremities. Faint fold crease present. Address label on the upper front cover. Good .
