A flier announcing a solidarity demonstration, soliciting students from other Bay area campuses to support the demonstration at San Francisco State. This protest was to be held on December 7th, 1968, with the flier reproducing a photo image of police pointing pistols at Black demonstrators gathered outside a building. The flier states in part "support SF State Student's Fight Against Racism and Facism." The Strike at San Francisco State College was initiated by the Black Student Union, which evolved into a larger organization, the Third World Liberation Front. Both groups wanted more people of color admitted to the college, as well as programs devoted to Black studies and Black history. This strike was met with violent police response, with the students often beaten and maced by the police. The strike ended in March of 1969, after five months of protests, when the administration agreed to form the College of Ethnic Studies and to accept almost all students of color for the Fall 1969 semester. GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present. Heavy wrinkling and fading. Some soiling. Good .
