Single issue of this long running journal devoted to African-American news, culture and entertainment. Jet was noted for its documentation of the Civil Rights movement and the murder of Emmett Till. This issue with a one page piece on the Black Panthers, quoting Fred Hampton on efforts of the Panthers to stop the slaughter of Blacks after the imprisonment of the party's leaders. This includes small photos of Fred Hampton, Huey Newton, Bobby Seale and Eldridge Cleaver. Lengthy piece on racism on a Montana air base, citing instances of discrimination against African-American soldiers and the seeming railroading of a Black captain. Other articles a look at the scrutiny surrounding a San Francisco sex institute; lengthy coverage of a Black expo, the Black Minorities Business and Cultural Expo and its success, etc. Politics, sports and fashion also included. GOOD condition. Mailing label on the front cover. General toning, minor soiling, scuffing and wrinkling. Some scuffing and curling along the extremities. Heavy crease to the rear cover. Good .
