An early reprint of this novel, originally published anonymously as part of the No Name Series of books in 1876. Helen Hunt Jackson is perhaps best known for her novel Ramona, which chronicles the struggles of a family of Mission tribe in Southern California. Jackson was a vocal activist for Native American rights during the late 1800s. GOOD condition. Mottling to the cloth along the rear hinge and fore edge, with a horizontal band of mottling to the lower front cover. Minor fading, soiling and scuffing. Corners frayed and worn. Text block browned. Short inscription on the title page. Good .
