Description: Los Angeles, New Way Enterprises, 1971. Tabloid. Side folding tabloid format. 64 pp. A later issue of this pioneering underground newspaper, known as the Freep. Established in 1964, the paper was known for its coverage of the counterculture movement and radical politics, as well as its strong anti-Vietnam War stance. Financial and staffing troubles led to its eventual demise in 1978. This issue with a full, front page illustration, somewhat psychedelic in nature. Extensive interview with publisher Lyle Stuart, including discussion of the Anarchist's Cookbook (as well as a review of the book later in the paper). Several ads for gay dances also present. Centerfold poster reading "No Mas Agresion." GOOD condition. Moderate general browning. Paper slightly brittle. Light edgewear. Faint fold crease present. Several ads and columns with ink brackets around them. Good .
