Description: Los Angeles, New Way Enterprises, 1971. Tabloid. Side folding tabloid format. 28 pp. plus the A-T classified ads section (offering an apparent an A-T selection of adult entertainment). A later issue of this pioneering underground newspaper, known as the Freep. Established in 1964, the paper was known for its coverage of the counterculture movement and radical politics, as well as its strong anti-Vietnam War stance. Financial and staffing troubles led to its eventual demise in 1978. This issue with a lengthy piece on the Black Panthers trial in New Haven; a feature on LSD for fun and profit, including definitions of LSD, mention of Timothy Leary; an interview with the founder of the Sexual Freedom League ; full page ad for Jethro Tull; a full page ad for Cat Stevens, with an illustration by Neon Park, etc. GOOD+ condition. Moderate general browning. Paper slightly brittle. Minor wrinkling along the extremities. Faint fold crease present. Good .
