Title: Indian Reservations of the Northwest. Idaho, Oregon, Washington. The People, Their Land, Their Life
Description: Portland, OR, United States Department of the Interior/Bureau of Indian Affairs, Publisher, 1960. Wraps. Illustrated pale blue wraps. Oblong quarto. 98 pp. A government issued survey and report on the various Native American Reservations in the Pacific Northwest, providing names and locations of the reservations, descriptions of their geography and region, a description of the people of the various tribes, including education, income and housing, as well as initiatives in the communities. Introduction seeks to dispel stereotypes and misconceptions of the Native American community, in regard to education, work, etc. although perhaps still contains a hint of condescension toward the lives and traditions of the Native Americans. GOOD condition. Minor soiling and staining to the wrappers, including a dampstain to the lower rear cover, slightly affecting the interior in that area. Wrappers chipped at two spots along the spine, exposing the binding beneath. Some scuffing/curling along the extremities. Paper very browned in the interior. Good .
