Each chapter provides a brief history and description of the region it pertains to, noting that parts of Africa are sources for enslaved people. Jacob Abbott Cummings was a Boston area schoolteacher and publisher (see Wikipedia). GOOD condition. 2 inch piece missing from the lower left front cover. No spine wrapper present. Moderate browning to the piece. Foxing and soiling present throughout, with some staining. Large faint dampstain present throughout. Corners curled and creased. A few names in ink at the front. Faint pencil brackets scattered throughout the text. Good .
