Title: Student Peace Union Bulletin. April 1961
Description: Chicago, Student Peace Union, Publisher, 1961. Soft Cover. Side stapled journal style format. 8 1/2 by 11 inches. 10 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A single issue of this newsletter issued by the Student Peace Union, containing information on military action in Laos, as well as reports on various peace marches and protests throughout the United States. Several pieces discuss activist action that can be taken, as well as ramifications of not registering for the Selective Service. The Student Peace Union was active on college campuses in the United States from 1959 to 1964, promoting a peace and anti-nuclear war/arms platform and clashing with police in New York in 1962. It disbanded in 1964, partially due to waning influence and the rise of groups such as the SDS (see Wikipedia). VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning. A few small rust spots/stains along the staples. A student group ink stamp present at the upper front corner. Very Good .
