Presumed to be circa 1901. Orange printed wraps, with an ad for the journal on the rear cover. 11 pages. With a few illustrations of a surgical procedure. A discussion of nephrorrhaphy or nephropexy, an operation to treat floating kidneys, mentioning the procedure and techniques, as well as discussing potential remedies for relapse. Dr. Edward Wyllys Andrews was one of the founders of the Institute of Medicine in Chicago, as well as serving on various surgical societies. He was also noted for his "Andrews' imbrication operation" for inguinal hernia repair (American College of Surgeons website). GOOD+ condition. Uneven fading to the wraps, heavier along the extremities. Minor soiling. Faint date stamp to the lower left front cover. Minor creasing and tearing along the extremities, with splitting to the head of the spine. Light toning to the text block. Good .
