Lacking any original wraps. 64 pp. A piece on the history of Brookfield, Massachusetts, recalling in detail many early fights and skirmishes with Native Americans; and also providing an early history of the settlement and growth of Brookfield, including short biographies of early settlers, etc. Native American accounts include attacks on Joseph Woolcot and his family in 1692, as well as an account of Philip (presumed King Philip or Metacomet) and his actions, drawn from a manuscript, among others. GOOD condition. Moderate foxing and uneven browning to the piece, with a few spots of heavier foxing present. Ownership signature in ink on top of the title page. Minor chipping along the fore edge. Old paper tape repair to the copyright page. Faint dampstain at the top page edges. Sabin 25006. Bradford 1723. Good .
