Stiff purple wraps ruled in black. 128 pp. A collection of scientific, political, historical and other facts and figures, including electoral and presidential votes since 1800, game laws of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland, the human body, foreign statistics, values in US money of foreign gold and silver coins, etiquette at dinners, balls, in public places, etc. Also of note is a short section on the game of draw poker (primarily a commentary on its rise and associated gambling), as well as a section of household recipes for chicken, potatoes, mayonnaise sauce, bread, pies, puddings, etc. Also included is a biography of Dr. Charles Sines, which subtly serves to tout his medicine, 'Sines' Compound Syrup of Tar, Wild Cherry and Hoarhound,' apparently used for good health. GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy fading and scuffing to the covers, with heavy fading to the spine. Dampstain along the outer rear hinge. Front cover split along the entire hinge, with a short split to the rear hinge, as well as some short horizontal tears along the spine. Extremities scuffed and bumped. Some creasing and minor soiling present. Lower rear corner missing a small diagonal piece. Interior solid with minor scattered foxing and soiling. Good .
