A detailed history of West Point, to its vital use as a fort on the Hudson during the American Revolution to its eventual transformation into a military academy. This includes discussion of the chain across the Hudson to obstruct passage during the war and Benedict Arnold and his secret correspondences and plot. FAIR condition, lacking the abovementioned pages. Moderate to heavy scuffing to the covers, heaviest along the hinges. General fading. Minor soiling, with a few faint stains to the rear cover. Cloth frayed and worn along the extremities, with some splitting along the hinges. Text block solid. Minor scattered soiling and general toning to the paper.
