This volume provides an in depth history and achievements of the various branches of Freemasonry including the Freemasonry of the pyramids, Masonic institutions in Thrace, Hellenic Freemasonry, Odinic Freemasonry, Essenean Freemasonry, ancient Syrian Freemasonry, Templar Masonry, and ancient Craft Masonry, among others. Also covered are the ethics and philosophy of Freemasonry, as well as two appendices, one on secret political orders-the Vehm Gerichte of the German Empire, the Carbonari of Italy, and the Hermandad, or Holy Brotherhood of Spain-and the second on adoptive or female Freemasonry. In FAIR condition. Moderate to heavy fading to the covers. Moderate soiling and scuffing with some small spots of staining. Spine sunned with the gilt rather faded. Some edgewear with the corners bumped and the spine pulled and a bit frayed. Text is solid and clean but has a faint dampstain to the lower third of the pages up to about page 240. It starts out in the gutter of the title page and increases incrementally page by page until occupying the lower third portion, then slowly decreases to page 240. Binding is somewhat cracked in the middle of the book, but is still intact and solid. Overall a solid copy in FAIR condition. Fair/No Jacket.
