The author, a professional photographer, gathered many photos from 1855 to 1920 that chronicled the growth and change surrounding the river. Contemporary newspaper accounts accompany the photos providing an in depth study of the area, as experienced by those who lived there. GOOD jacket on a VERY GOOD book. Minor soiling and darkening to the jacket. Some scuffing to the extremities with a few small tears present. Spine top pulled and frayed, appearing slightly tattered. Rear jacket wrinkled along the third near the spine, appearing to be from water exposure. There is very faint evidence of a dampstain in this area. It does not affect the book or text. Light fading to the extremities of the book. Light edgewear. Text clean and solid. Previous owner's name on ffep. Very Good/Good.
