Signed simply "Gene." Gressley (1932-2016) was a historian whose other books include "Bankers and Cattlemen," "Bostonians and Bullion: The Journal of Robert Livermore 1892-1915" and "Advocates and Adversaries: The Early Life and Times of Robert R. Rose. .
