A tight, attractive first edition of this hefty gathering of in-depth diplomatic correspondence -- and bearing a fun and appropriate autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf is a Typed Noted Signed from British Ambassador to U.S. Ronald C. Lindsay, 1p, 4½" X 7½", Washington, DC, 2 February 1934. Near fine. Beneath a blind-embossed English crest, the ambassador notes "I have much pleasure in complying with your request for my autograph," signing boldly in black ink. Sir Ronald Lindsay (1877-1945) was a highly-regarded English career diplomat who served as Ambassador to Turkey (1925-26), to Germany (1926-28) and to the United States (1930-39). .
