Angle / Jan. 10, 1951." Carl Tolpo (1901-76) was a noted sculptor and painter whose busts of Lincoln are considered among the best. Tolpo signs in pencil near the top of this same flyleaf, adding "Bought at Fields / Mar 3 -- 47 / Chicago. .
