This particular set comes from the bequest of renowned uniform historian and researcher Dr. Pieter Roelse and includes, loosely inserted, a large number of rare newspaper and magazine photographs related to the book's subject. The clippings are often additionally captioned in neat hand, and source and date are often given. Rare period material is often included. Many of these clippings correspond directly to illustrations in the book and enhance image and word, providing extra, useful reference.
