Also, illustrated article, "How We Took the Chinese Port" (pp. 152-153) about the "capture of hte Barrier Forts, guarding the approach to Canton, writen by the surgeon on board the United State sloop 'Levant.'" Engraving of the Barrier Forts from a sketch by J. H. Wright, and "Fort Tung-Un, After the Bombardment" and map of the attack of the Portsmouth and Levant upon the fort. Interesting cover story, "When Shall We Marry?" debating the age at which people should get married.
