Description: Methuen, 1983. 1st [only] Edition. Very Good in dust wrapper which is a little faded as usual. Not price clipped and with no inscriptions. Peake was commissioned to do these illustrations in 1945 but the project was abandoned in 1946 owing to paper and printing difficulties in the post war period. A set of 19 of the original illustrations was sold by the Peake family through Chris Beetles Gallery in 2006.
