Description: No publisher or printer, c. 1840. 15 lithographed cards, each c. 114 x 75 mm. slightly bowed and a little soiled. An unrecorded set of educational astronomical cards, each representing a different aspect of astronomy with a lithographic illustration to one side and text description to the reverse. Since Neptune is not included it is assumed that these date from prior to its discovery in 1843. The 15 cards are: The Sun and Solar System, Mercury and Venus, The Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and the Comets, Eclipses of the Sun, Eclipses of the Moon, The Sphere, Positions of the Sphere, Pole-Star, - Great Bear, The Pleiades, Constellations, The Zodiac, and Orion.
