"The Droitwich Salt Company, Limited, will be much obliged by Trucks being unloaded immediately upon arrival, as at this season of the year they are much pressed for Rolling Stock, and the detention of a Waggon for a single day beyond the proper time is a matter of serious consequence to them." The brine springs of Droitwich have been an important source for salt for over 2,000 years on the back of which King John granted a Royal Charter to the town in 1215.
