Title: By the King's Royal Letters Patent. Urling's Lace. [Trade Card]
Description: 392 The Strand, c. 1820. Rare folding trade card, 250 x 160 mm. with samples inset into window. First page a little trimmed, second page chipped. The superior clearness and transparency of Urling's lace, are best seen by shining and holding it up to the light...[the card includes two samples of lace, one which is 'Common Lace Full of Fibre' and the other 'Urling's Lace Free from Fibre' and two samples of cotton, 'Cotton full of fibre from which common lace is manufactured, and Urling's Patent thread free from fibre of which his lace is manufactured.]' On the verso is a copy of the Royal Warrant granted by Queen Charlotte in 1817. The third side is blank and the fourth is a circular further describing the superior attributes of Urling & Co's lace.
