Description: Royal Aquarium, 1889. Large crepe paper handkerchief, 445 x 650 mm. printed in colour and black and white. The colour printed "blank" is here overprinted with the programme. These blanks often feature oriental designs and were used indiscriminately for a great many souvenir handkerchiefs, and as here, programmes. Includes Ally Sloper's International Exhibition, Bridge's Royal Punch and Judy, Sheriff, the baby elephant and the usual musical and nautical entertainments.
