This item may have at some time been mounted and will bear traces on the reverse of adhesive or removal of mounts. In 1833 the rate payers of the parish were granted, by Act of Parliament, the right to elect members of the vestry. Prior to that event an association was formed to secure "the return of proper persons as Vestrymen and Auditors of the Parish Accounts." A meeting of 11th April upheld various resolutions [1st sheet], the second sheet was a manifesto from the association which accompanied balloting papers for vestrymen [3rd sheet] and auditors [4th sheet]. This manifesto is a rebuttal to public statements that the Association was responsible for the increased poor rate. Obviously some vigourous local politics!
