This item may have at some time been mounted and will bear traces on the reverse of adhesive or removal of mounts. A rare list of charges for this private cemetery founded in 1833 which is still in use today, the resting place for some 250,000 individuals in over 65,000 graves. A great many notables are buried here, including Charles Babbage, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and his son Marc, John Gould, George Grossmith, Leigh Hunt, Wyndham Lewis, Robert Owen (cenotaph only), Harold Pinter, Terence Rattigan, William Thackeray, Anthony Trollope, etc. A rare survival listing the full scale of charges and regulations. Whilst it was normal to be buried six feet deep, burials at a deeper level was also possible with charges for a 25 foot burial at £2 18s. 6d. and beyond 25 feet, at 7s. 6d. per foot> presumably this allowed multiple vertical burials in one family plot. One could purchase a vault under the colonnade for £199.
