Oblong folio. pp. engraved title printed in grey and gold> 5 tinted lithographic plates of scenes along the routes of the railway plus one of the Roman quarry where the local Nabresine stone was sourced, all titled in the plate, one with printed tissue overlay showing new construction on the bridge at Lucavetz. Fine in original blindstamped morocco. Rare. No copies are listed in the standard on-line resources. The railway, the last part of the Vienna to Triest line, was completed in 1857 and this lovely book of views would appear to have been published at about that time. The short route [around 11 miles], seems to mostly consist of long and spectacular viaducts, presumably constructed from the local Nabresina limestone quarried from the Cava Romana.
