Description: John Bowles, c. 1810. Title page and 15 engraved views only [of 38?], each c. 175 x 215 mm. Mounted 2 to a large folio sheet, nick to the top of Christ's Hospital. Apart from the fine engraved title page the views are: Justice Hall in the Old Bailey, Custom House, The Tower of London, The Royal Exchange, The Inside of the Royal Exchange, Guild Hall, Inside of Guild Hall, College of Physicians, Christ's Hospital, The Royal Palace of St James, Aske's Hospital, Navy Office, St Thomas's Hospital, St Bartholemew's Hospital and The Charter House. Although bearing Bowles' imprint, these are almost certainly the work of Robert Wilkinson> see Adams [London Illustrated 1604 - 1851. Library Association, 1983] 105 for a full description.
