Title: Black List! Being the Annual Amount of Pickings of the Peers and their Families, who voted against the Reform Bill, in the House of Lords, on Saturday, Oct 8, 1831.
Description: W.P. Chubb, [1831] Single sheet, printed two column, 480 x 310 mm, laid down with some loss, especially to left hand border and very slight loss of some letters at a tear to lower left hand side. A rare 'name and shame' poster issued just prior to the Great Reform Act of 1832 which introduced wide ranging changes to the British Electoral system and brought some semblance of balance to individual constituencies in an attempt to get rid of 'Rotten Boroughs.' "... we have only placed known sums paid to these . We will leave the world to judge whether this way of distributing the labour of the people is best calculated to do good or evil in the country."
