Description: c. 1890. Large oblong 4to. 97 pages of blank hand-made paper, mostly interleaved with tissue guards. Fine full crushed green morocco binding by Fazakerley of Manchester, inset red leather border strip, ornate art-nouveau gilt and blind designs to covers and spine panels. With silk end papers and inset panel to front pastedown incorporating the bookplate of Robert Bateman of Carlisle. In the original cloth bound solander box, the box hinge rather damaged. The preservation of the box has kept this completely unused book and binding in extraordinary condition.
