Walter Tiverton, Sold By Crosby's & Co, London, This was first published in 1749 and this copy from "a new edition corrected & much improved" was printed in 1812. Boards (dark brown with gilt lettering on spine) and pages are clean (except for rubbing along board and spine edges), unmarked, bright (but pages do have some darkening spots), tightly bound and sharp cornered. Scarce, Out Of Print, Book. "Bampfylde Moore Carew (1693–1759) was an English rogue, vagabond and impostor, who claimed to be King of the Beggars. He was the son of Reverend Theodore Carew, rector of Bickleigh. The Carews were a well-established Devonshire family. Although they had a reputation for adventurousness, Bampfylde Moore Carew took this to extremes, if his picaresque memoirs are to be believed.": 4.5 x 7.5 in.: 288 pages.
