[36 x 29 cm.]. Quarter red muslin over blue embossed cloth with gilt world map (hardback). First edition. Illus. with 84 maps. A very good plus copy with a bit of darkening to the war time paper, though not at all brittle, and otherwise tight and clean, in a soiled dust jacket with a sunned spine and tape repairs to the edges. ¶ The overseas version was subtitled "A guide to the nature and course of the war, containing 84 new maps and 60,000 words of interpretive text" whereas he American version has this printed only on the front dust jacket.
