Description: Glasgow, James Macelhose 1876 xi, 127pp (of which several are folded diagrams), 5 additional folded plates 23x16, green cloth, glt text Corners slightly bumped, cloth shelf marked, some of the folded pages have creasing and wear with closed tears not affected the contents, good thus. Owner's plate on ffep - William Dick Cleland Deas was the Superintendent of the river Clyde, and this book was based on a paper given in 1873 to the ICE, for which he was awarded a Telford Avenue by the Institution. It includes additional material and commentary on his paper, as well as the updated paper itself. (Harper and Dick-Cleland were a Glasgow engineering firm)
