Title: Charles Booth: A Memoir
Description: Farnborough, Gregg Press (1918) 1968 reprint 176pp, 4 plates, personal letter to the Booth family loosely inserted. 20x13, grey cloth, glt text. Near fine, dedication from Charles M Booth and Imogen Gore Brown on ffep Originally published in 1918, a biographical tribute to the pioneering social surveyor and businessman. This reprint may have been done for the family, as copies appear to often include dedications from the children of Charles Booth - in this instance, both his son George Macaulay Booth (1877-1971) and daughter Imogen Gore Brown have signed it. The enclosed short letter, from Edward and Lena (?) White of Philadelphia appears to be to the Booth family soon after Charles Booth's death in November 1916, as it expresses both Christmas wishes and sadness and shock at his death.
