Title: History of the Panama Canal: Its Construction and Builders
Description: Washington DC, Historical Publishing Company 1915 ('Builder's Edition') xi, 543pp, bw photographic plates throughout. 29x22, green cloth, quarter bound in brown leather, glt lettering, five raised bands, marbled endpapers. Some wear to leather, particularly corners where one part of the surface is missing, contents very good indeed. Beautifully made and presented commemorative publication, presumably paid for by the firms it celebrates. Excellent illustrations, with text describing the history of Panama from the arrival of the Spanish in the late 15th century onwards. The photographs of the construction of the canal are particularly good. [Heavy item, may require additional postage]
