Description: London, T McLean 1814 (second edition) xix, 52pp, 62 engraved plates 26x17, boards, printed label to spine The later binding is tight and secure, though slightly bumped and rubbed; the text pages are fragile and somewhat crockled, the plates - on better paper - are clear and bright; there is some foxing throughout. Hamilton's collection of vases - in fact two, assembled at different times - was enormously influential on contemporary artistic tastes. The first edition was published by William Miller in 1804, this second edition ten years later.
